Customizing taskspace inbox

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement to customize taskspace inbox so that it should show the number of tasks inside it (like this. Inbox 12 ). Can I achive this goal with Forms Builder without doing any wdk work?

Hi Imran,

If by inbox you mean a tasklist, then yes in theory you can:

Create a new tasklist in FormsBuilder
Add a data item to it to hold your count
Add a label and bind it to the data item
Add an adaptor that calculates the value
bind the data item to the adaptor.

However, I advise against doing this for two reasons:

The tasklist is one of the most performance sensitive forms and adding adaptors etc to it won't be benefitial.
The usefulness of such a number to the end user is negligable (either they have unfinished work, or they don't, and by navigating to the tasklist they already see if it is empty or not).

Hi,

We have already done so.But I had been looking for something similar to this.

Display the number of tasks right after the Inbox.But for doing this I think the only way is customization and it is not worth to do this as the performers receive an email too as they receive a new task in documentum.The email provides all of this functionalities.

I see, then you are correct. That would require customizing the tree structure which is a WDK level customization and something I would advice against.
