Do not validate using item validators while clicking close button on Task form

Hi All,

I have created Item validator's and asigned it to a field of the task form. The task form is mapped to a manual activity in workflow. If users open the task and if he try to close using close button the item validator's not allowing the form to close. Its validating while clicking close button also. Not only close buttton on click of any button its validating. This is weird.

Can someone please help me on this

My actual requirement is I want the item validators to validate on click of any one button not for all button types.

for eg:

If a form have submit button and close button. I want item validators to validate on click of the submit button only and not for close button.

Hi,

Have a look at the Special tab of the button's properties. You will find there checkbox Do not validate requireds fields. This checkbox is not appearing for all bytton types, but for Close button it does.

I have did that too. The option Do not validate required fields under special tab for buttons working fine for form required fields. But not for item validators.

In form builder for a text field and etc there is an option in properties were we can make it as mandatory field by checking "required" check box. This validation can be avoid using Do not validate required fields check box under properties of all the buttons.

But for item validators we don't have any options to make it to not validate using item validators for any button.

What happening if you close tab by clicking on X at the right top corner of the tab?

Hi,

That is the only way to close the tab anyway. By clicking on X at the top corner the task form will close and no validation will happen.
