Move SharePoint Records to Documentum

We have a requirement to move documents to Documentum once they become official records in SharePoint 2010. The documents need to be completely removed from sharepoint once they become records. I assume we will need to map content types and attributes. We were also planning on using DFS - is this the right approach?? In SharePoint, we are going to create an event handler or possibly a custom workflow - I really need more info on how to consume sharepoint documents in Documentum content server 6.6.

FYI - The My Documentum web part doesn't meet our requirements.

Any info would be very helpful.

Yes you need to use DFS to move documents from sharepoint to documentum, You can use event handlers or timer jobs in sharepoint and connect to documentum using DFS.
