Document type drop down is disablde when I want to import a document.

I created a type in DA, name is 'design_document",it's supertype is dm_document.

For my opinion, I can use this type in Webtop or DA, import/Create document and assign type 'design_document' to one document.

But the type drop-down list is disabled when I am trying to create/import it.

Anybody know who to enable it?

Very strange.Can you see the type in types list in DA? Have you tried restarting your application server?

In order to build the tyle list, a query like the following is runned:

select b.type_name, b.label_text from dmi_type_info a, dmi_dd_type_info b

where (any a.r_supertype='dm_document' and

not any r_supertype='dm_folder' and

not any r_supertype = 'dmc_rm_formal_record' and

not any r_supertype = 'dmc_rm_formal_rec_structure'

) and

(a.r_type_name = b.type_name) and

not any r_supertype='dmc_prm_physical_document' and

(b.nls_key = 'en') and

(b.business_policy_id = '0000000000000000') and

not (b.life_cycle = 3)

order by 2,1

If this query returns only one value, the type list is disable.

So many case your type is not found:

* Your application is based on an incorrect docbase, where the type is not defined.

* Your type is not a sub type of dm_document

* Your type is marked as obsolete, value 3 for life_cyle in dmi_dd_type_info

I run the following script, then the drop down list enabled. and all kinds of types can be displayed.

But I'm still not sure it's the proper way to resolve this issue.I even don't know what these two scripts really did.

1.dmbasic -f dd_populate.ebs -e Entry_Point -- <repository_name> <username> <password> \Documentum\dba\config\<docbase>\data_dictionary.ini
2. IAPI:apply,c,NULL,RESYNC_DATA_DICTIONARY,RETRY_COUNT,i,10
