Custom Data Model with xCP Forms Builder

Hi,

Is it possible to map an XML schema as a data model for xFroms in forms builder?

Per my understanding, I can only use data model that gets created as I am working on the form, dragging and dropping UI controls on to the form work space. Alternatively, I can use data model of other forms. Our requirement is that we should be able to map external data model to our forms. For example, we can create an Infopath form using an XML schema, or an Adobe LiveCycle form using an XML schema/XML data file. Do we have such flexibility with xForms?

They do not want to rely much on adaptors to pull data from external sources since that would need involving technical resources for minor changes.
