Mailbox Integration with Documentum

Hi,

I have a requirement where email with attachments are sent to an email ID.

Email ID (or) mailbox should be monitored regularly at specific time intervals and the emails and attachments should be archived to Documentum as specific custom document type.

Do we have out-of-box product that EMC offers to achieve this functioanlity ? Please advise.

Is this email template available only from D6.7 version or do we have this in lowere version also ?

I think, it would be better if you tell what version are you using. I know for sure in version 6.5 this activity was already.

Also, do we have performance impact in our Documentum server as it will create lot of workflow instances one instance per email ?

Yes, of course, it has. As any action in the system How much is this impact? I do not think it has too much influence.

In any case, you should not be afraid, because this is one of the features of the system for which the system is needed

Hi,

One the waysis to use Process (workfow) with Email Inbound activity. Such process will be stared as new email is revieved. You can set the period

Email activity templates poll email servers for incoming messages and then process them according to the business logic you've specified. Within the Email Inbound activity template, you define the connection to the email server, select options for processing the message after it has been read, and map data from the incoming message to the process data that is used in the process. Also you can store the attachments to any folder (which folder to use can be choosed based on the type, name of the attachment).
