Query regarding webtop migration from 6.5 to 6.7

Good Morning Everyone,

I have an urgent query regarding webtop migration <version 6.5 to version 6.7>. Currently I am having a customized webtop application in 6.5 sp1 webtop version. Now I need to migrate the customized webtop application to webtop 6.7 version. Can anyone suggest me about what changes are exactly required to perform the above migration procedure. Also let me know what are the known changes that are required to perform and what are the basic things that needs to be taken care while doing this migration from 6.5 to 6.7 version. I will be waiting for your reply which will be assisting me to perform the above migration.

As I told you, the changes will vary based on customizations you did, so I think it's pointless to write the whole system migration guide here (best pratices, componentes, first steps), without knowing exactly what you need to migrate.

If I recall correctly, our customizations were simple and we just recompiled the DFC code on the new version after copying them to a clean Webtop installation on the new version, we didn't need to do anything in the JSPs or XMLs.

The changes required will vary, based on what customizations you did.

I suggest you to get some PDFs on Powerlink, you can start by reading "System_66_upgrade_and_migration.pdf" and "System_67_upgrade_and_migration.pdf", these are the "Documentum System Migration Guides", they list everything that has changed from one version to another, including WDK components and controls, so you'll be able to track the changes and adapt your customizations.

After doing that, I you must recompile the code using the desired Java and DFC version, and retest the whole system.

I know it depends on the customization which exists there in the application. But I was looking for some definite changes that are mandatory for this migration so that I can proceed with the changes before getting the error. Also help to inform if there is any changes in the queue management module.

Actually I am looking for some suggessions from such a person who have already performed the same kind of migration from 6.5 to 6.7 webtop version so that he/she can provide me some known/usual changes to be done for a simple customized application to be migrated.

In our case too it is a simple customization. Did you encounter any changes in the java files ? If yes can you please mention the regular changes that is required for this migration.
