Hi,
One of our client is looking for conetent management solution for their custom build ( Java /Jsp / Webservices layer ) application along with other non CMS functionalities . Right now they have a separate extrenal table for storing the metadata and store contents in a file store. They are now looking to migrate the application to Documentum but they are very particular about retaining the UI and not so comfortable with Documentum's (Webtop/Taskspace) customized UI So they want to utilize the content management functionalities from Documentum in their existing UI . Applications are about 14 million documents each in average and content retrival and search result sets will also be always high in number (Not restricted to the Max Count of 500 it will be more than that ) ( right now they have option to serach only the metadata and when needed they can go for contents separetly ) .
Considering the above points . How much DFS will fit into the solution and how much effective it will be performance asspect ? Is it possible to expose all the functinailtes of Documentum System through DFS ? What are the disadvantages of this approach when comapred to the normal end to end solution ( Webtop /Taskspace --> Content Server ) .
Please advice .
Regards,
Mouli
