[DM_QUERY2_E_TOO_MANY_FOLDERS_FOR_FTDQL]error: "The folder predicate in the query exceeds the maxim

Hi All,

I have come across a known issue in my Webtop 6.6 Application. While using advanced search, it is showing [DM_QUERY2_E_TOO_MANY_FOLDERS_FOR_FTDQL]error: "The folder predicate in the query exceeds the maximum number of supported folders (2500) error.

But the default webtop's advanced search is working fine.

But this problem happens in production, so need some quick help from you.

I have resolved the problem. Here is the solution:

I have add one more parameter in dm_ftengine_config object

These are the following steps:

API>retrieve,c,dm_ftengine_config

API>dump,c,l

Check the last index number for attribute and its values. If dump command reports 22 current param_name/param_value pairs, run the following APIs:

API>set,c,l,param_name[23]

API>folder_predicate_max_terms

API>set,c,l,param_value[23]

API>4000 (Or whatever number you need to set.)

API>save,c,l

Restart the content server and FAST server.

Problem got resolved.

The Number of records are only 656. So it should work perfectly.

One more update to give you:-

1. In our customized webtop, we search only to a specific cabinet. the default webtop searches the entire docbase. The specific cabinet has around 13000 folders. Problem persists here only it seems. Adv search is throwing error only of the specific cabinet is selected.

Simple search is not at all working because the search preference location is that cabinet only.

Can any body throw somelight on this problem?

Then it looks like you faces the limitation you identified. Did you investigate the workarounds mentionned there?

Option 1: do not use folder descend when search over 5,000 folders. Use a DFC hint to make database search vs Fast searchOption 2: see the Tuning Webtop Advanced Search FTDQL Behaviorl.pdf for full description and hint configuration.
