Hi All,
I have written an .ipl file in which i m calling iwunlock command to unlock the files.
But by this i m only able to unlock the files which are locked by me ,because i m working as editor also i m not able to unlock the files of other's workarea .
It is same as Teamsite's default Unlock functionality .
Can anybody tell me way to unlock the other workareas file . I am using Teamsite6.5
Thanks

I also want to do something as follows,
The requirement is to create a link in the content menu to unlock the files even if it is not locked by you.
I have created a link and it is unlocking the files those are locked by others, but for doing this I must be a 'master' by role.
The requirement is to do this job for users who are only Authors or Editors.
I am calling my ipl file from 'ui_custom.xml' which in turn is calling 'iwunlock.exe'.
Any help is highly appreciable.

The TeamSite forum probably would have been a better place for these posts - though I believe the solution for this would be to use workflow.
Create a simple workflow that has an externaltask to unlock all files associated with the workflow - the externaltask should be owned by a master user ('root', 'DOMAIN\Administrator', etc.) - The custom menu item can then take the selected file(s); construct the necessary XML input file to set them as parameters along with anything else needed and then call iwwft_compile.ipl to invoke the workflow.

If you are using TeamSite 6.5 SP1 you have access to function within the CS SDK called getClientForTrustedUser that will give you access to TeamSite as any user you wish, with their highest role defined. What you could do for example is get a CS Client object using root or Administrator (depending on platform, assuming they are masters, or whatever your master users are) and then perform the unlock functionality. Your custom menu option would just invoke this simple Java Servlet that you could put in place within the Customer UI Toolkit.
You would have to unlock the files via the CSFile.unlock method within your servlet as well.
A few caveats:
- There is a bug with the getClientForTrustedUser method that may cause issues. It attempts to perform operations on files as the user running the TeamSite servlet process, so there may be some permission issues or strange java exceptions thrown with this.
Hope this helps,
-Bill
