Change format only while displaying on form - FORMS

Hello All,

We have requirement to change the format of ssn while displaying on the form. We get ssn value from database as xxxxxxxxx. We even store in docbase in same format. But while displaying on FORM user wants ssn : ****-xx-xxxx. Is there a way to display ssn in the desired format.

Can any one suggest me the way to achive this requirement? Is there any functionality in FORMS builder?

Hi,

You can generate three textboxes like

SSN: TB1-TB2-TB3 and also three dql adapters like,

SELECT SUBSTR("ssn",0,2) FROM.....

SELECT SUBSTR("ssn",2,5) FROM.....

SELECT SUBSTR("ssn",5,8) FROM.....

And set the value of the textboxes with this adapters.

Hi Imran,

Thanks for your reply. I followed as the way you defined. It worked for me. But, I have created three more process variables to hold the value for each TB. Is there a way without creating new process variables . I mean something like using same varaible rather than creating new variables.
