Importing Excel spread sheet to TextArea using VisualFormat

Hi ,

We can create tables in TextArea using VisualFormat.

I am trying to import Excel spreadsheet to teatarea using VisualFormat . Is it possible to do this . If yes , then we do this ?

Do we need to customize visualformatconfig.xml for this ?

You can cut and paste and hope for the best or you can add a custom command that loads a CGI that can take an imported Excel file and converts it into and HTML table to paste into the VFE (Check out Spreadsheet: Smiley Tongue

arseExcel on CPAN). In my experience, cutting and pasting directly from MS Office apps is troublesome because they probably use windows-1252 character set which doesn't translate well to a latin-1 or utf-8 encoded DCR.
