My client has the following requirements :-

"They are provided by a insurance template format by their clients and keeping the same format there , people can add comments , but the data should not go into the form "

Can this be made possible in MediaBin .

I am not sure I fully understand the use case, but generally things like comments are handled via metadata. For example an array of metadata can hold each user's comments distinct from the others and not impact the original document. If you work with out services organization they should be able to help set up a solution.

Hello ,

Thanks for you help . I am hereby writing the details of the requirement .

After one has uploaded a media file ( e.g. a pdf file ) , can comments be added without touching the file content . As I am a novice to MediaBin , maybe I am missing out on something.

I was going thru the Media Bin server hosted on devnet but I am not able to figure out what to do . Can you give me some pointers to this ; does one need to customize MediaBin for this programatically .

Also please let me know how do I get in touch with the services solutions group .

When you say ‘without touching the file content’ does it mean you don’t want others (except the owner of the asset) to download & upload back the modified version to MediaBin. You just want them to update the MetaData value of comments rite. If this is what you want to achieve, I don’t think it’s possible to do using MediaBin native client & web client. But this can be done writing your own application using MediaBin API’s. Use ReviseMetaData() method of Asset object to update the MetaData values of the asset.
