Hello,

I customized "sendlocator" component to include in the generated link my last published object :

select r_object_id from custom_doc (all) where i_chronicle_id ='" + str1 + "' and r_modify_date=(select max(r_modify_date) " +

"custom_doc (all) where i_chronicle_id = '" + str1 + "' and a_status like 'Pub%')"

and send it as link to user's inbox for ex :

http://localhost:22222/taskspace/?objectId=09018d4180001b6f&appname=custom_app&docbase=D4XXAN1&pub=true&ticket=&username=

what i need to know is what component to customize and how to let the user get the latest published version if he clicks on his link after one month for exemple..???

Notice that during this month another published versions are created for the same object and where that the user has in his old link the r_object_id of the old version.

Your query will already return the latest version of the document which has a_status like 'Pub%', so it doesnt matter if the r_object_id (that is referenced as str1) is old or not. You should be able test your code as is.

the query is only to build the link in "sendlocator" but what if the link will be clicked after a period of time so the r_objed_id in the link will not point to the last published version anymore.( during this period another versions are created)

If i click now on my link generated now, i will have the latest published version (X2) of the document now. that's ok!

but my goal is that a user who has the link (with "r_object_id" of versionX2) in his inbox and clicks on this static link after one week for exemple, he will be able to get the latest published version (X6)

so what im searching for is where to modify so that when u copy an old link with an old object id in your browser, it will redirect you to the latest published version.

I found an answer from you that replies on half of my question :

To get CURRENT version of a document, you need to append this "/versionLabel/CURRENT" to DRL. For example:

http://server_name/webtop/drl/objectId/09000c3b8004d8da/versionLabel/CURRENT

We customized SendLocator component, such that when a user wants to email as weblink, this is automatically appended to url string

what i need to get the latest published version.. do i have to add another parameter somwhere to DRL??

Your original query would indicate that you are using a_status as flag when something is published. The typical way is done is to use version labels (r_version_label). When you publish a document, you append "Publish" to version label. If you do it this way, then all you have to do with url is to change CURRENT to Publish:

http://server_name/webtop/drl/objectId/09000c3b8004d8da/versionLabel/Publish

I am using taskspace 6.5 so i have TaskspaceSendLocator class which construct a different type of link as in my 1st message.

s2 = (new StringBuilder()).append("/taskspace?objectId=").append(s1).append("&appname=").append(s3).append("&docbase=").append(s4).append("&ticket=&username=").toString();

In the taskspace sendlocator link there is no mentionned drl so attaching /versionLabel/CURRENT is not working..

http://localhost:22222/taskspace/?objectId=09018d4180001b6f&appname=custom_app&docbase=D4XXAN1&pub=true&ticket=&username=

So what the right component to modify even if handling the case of current versions..?

Taskspace is NOT designed to be customize like WDK/Webtop. So if taskspace is using a new DRL component than webtop, there's no guarantee that webtop customization will work in taskspace.
