Documentum web service

Hi Experts,

My requirement is, I need to view the contents of  documents based on user's input from Android device.

I have found that Documentum does not support RestFul web service. So I thought to go with DFS which is on SOAP.

Can you please let me know how can I call this DFS from a java code and how will I get the content of documents using  DFS web service?

If possible can you please provide some sample code.

Documentum does have Restful services, but they are currently in beta, although they will be available 'soon'. CMIS is a good alternative, and one I have used with Android - if you search the web there is even a couple of open source projects for Android/CMIS. As to DFS it should be pretty easy since Android is Java and DFS provides the Java productivity layer. just take the SDK samples and put one of these into your Java application and you should have a functional application. Personally I have never actually tried this so I can't say whether all the libraries required by the DFS productivity layer client will exist in Android, but even if they don't there are still options to build your own layer as per the examples in the manuals around Axis clients.

It should be noted that SOAP is not generally recommended for Android due to the higher overhead but it can work.
