Replication(Copy documents from one repository to other repository )

Hi all,

I have a requirement where I need to write a utility that will copy documents from one repository to another repository. The utility will also copy the Meta Data and renditions along with the documents.

If any one has done this earlier please giver ur sugggestion.

We have used a product Buldozer from Crown Partners that will accomplish your requirements.

If you can live with just CURRENT documents with metadata (no renditions), you can use Composer to migrate contents and folder structure from one repository to another.

Thanks for your quick resposne.

The client requirement is that we need to write a utility and we do not have to use buldoser.

It is vary from case to case that we need to copy all version or current so utiliy should be flexible enough.

We are using Buldoser , but it is not migrating more then one rendition.

Have you tried multiple rendition migration with buldoser.

My tech support geru says there is an option to check to copy all renditions. You may need to check with the vendor if you do not see this option.

Yes we tried both cases , Page0 and All but the all renditions are not coming in batch dump.

When we check dump internally from file system there only one rendition present .

So I want to know have you tried for Option All Rendition as it is not working in my case.

Yogita, You just have to write a DFC program to achieve your requirement but it's lot of work. You can also use existing tools such as Buldoser or FME Migration Center but you need to pay the license. You also have free software, Open Migrate for example.
