get r_object_id from DB

Is it possible to get r_object_id from db? I'm developing a massive upload and I don't want use dfc o dfs to extract r_object_id. Is it generate by database, with a stoored procedure or a function? If yes which one is? Or isn't possibile and I must use the dfc layer?

There is not stored procedure or function. As far as I'm aware it is the content server which generates r_object_id on creation.

If you are doing a massive ingestion of content you will have to use the api,  dfc or dfs.

There are tools with high vlume server to allow for quick ingestion, and another trick is to use an external file store to get the content ready, then create the relevant objects in documentum pointing to the external store, and after they're all available have a background task change the content location such that documentum brings itinto the servers space.

I can't remember the exact details/terminology for the first of these and for the second I'll have to dig through some manuals.
