Content Transformation experiences?
Phil
Has anyone had the opportunity to use the new Content Transformation module in SP2 for TeamSite 6.5? We are considering an evaluation of the module during our upgrade to SP2. We have a need to convert Word documents to PDF within a workflow. If anyone has any experiences or advice they would care to share I would greatly appreciate it.
One question I have after reading the product overview: Does the module require its own dedicated server or can it be loaded on an existing server?
Thanks!
Phil

It can be installed either on the same server or on a different server. The XDocs server requires a servlet engine and it might be better to install a separate one from the one used by TeamSite. Obviously if you have access to another server, that is the best configuration to minimize load on the server running TeamSite, but that is not a required configuration. Also, if you anticipate large volumes of documents for transformation, a separate server might make sense.

CTS seems to not support Double-byte file name, even in XTE self test page.
is there any configuration to make CTS support double-byte file name?
besides, can we directly call CTS in external task instead of CGI task, that means we can get docuement files in workflow and call CTS function to convert files in back-end .
thanks

Alex..
At this time, CTS is not double-byte certified.. We are working with our OEM vendor to add that functionality in a future release.. It works fine for single-byte non-English languages..
thanks
