Restricting Teamsite Users in Apache???

Hi,

I need to allow only 5 users to access Teamsite. Essentially teamsite should allow requests to Max 5 users at any time (due to some low hardware specs on the box)

TS 6.5 running on Sun 5.9 with Apache 1.3.1
I thought the 'MaxClients' directive of the Apache should be able to do this, but i got negative results while testing it.
To test I gave 'MaxClients' = 1 and still three different boxes could log on to Teamsite.

Using Teamsite Groups in 6.x will also not work since other people can use the same login/pwd from multiple machines.

Any ideas how do I achieve this???

Hi Amit,
You can try to change maxProcessor parameter in iw-home/servletd/conf/server.xml. This way servlet daemon will have maximum 5 threads at one point of time and the rest of the threads will be waiting in queue.

more than 5 user will be able to login to TS but only 5 requests will be processed at one point of time.

Thanks for this. However I could not find a Parameter max Processors in server.xml, I did find maxthreads and I tried to use that.
Unfortunately no success.

I tried Maxthreads=2, I thought this would allow only 2 web daemons but 4 different machines were able to log into Teamsite and use it.

any ideas???

Hi Amit,
If you have given maxThread=2 it can have more than 2 web daemons and multiple users still can login as I mentioned in my last post but other webd processes will be in waiting state. You can have a look into servletd.log file with multiple users logged in and u may come across waiting in queue messages there.

I have seen in our system, we have 150 threads and when number of requests are more than 150 then thread pool exhausts and new requests are kept in wait..
