Deploying from 6.0.2 to 5.6.0

I have a question. I am trying to deploy from a Windows 6.0.2 OpenDeploy server to a Solaris 5.6.0 OpenDeploy server. When I try to deploy a file, it fails and this is entered into the log:

Will installing Service Pack 1 and the patch for 5.6.0 resolve this problem? From what I have been reading it should.

Yes install the patches

A big issue was that filelist deployments failed with 6.0.1 -> 5.6 deployments
without the patch/SP

I cannot tell if this was a filelist deployment or not.

Yeah - I'm not sure how I can tell if it was a Filelist deployment. I just went in through Content Center and clicked on a file and selected 'Deploy on Demand'. Is that a Filelist deployment?

I don't believe there are any built-in deployment schemes with TeamSite - so what you're using is most likely a customization - and you'll have to do some investigating on your own to find out what kind of deployment is being done (most likely it is a filelist based deployment though)

That is very possible. We have several templates that are being used, but I don't know much about them. I guess what is throwing me for a loop is this part of the error message: LIB 00006: 2005-11-09 15:24:40 ERROR: Connection failed: Could not find matching OpenDeploy client for (lnbdayappp011). Is this because the OpenDeploy version on Solaris doesn't have Service Pack 1 and the patch? It appears that the two boxes are at least communicating with each other because the log was able to pull the version of OpenDeploy from the Solaris box.

You probably do need to make sure the the 5.6.0 server gets patched to SP1 and/or whatever other bug-fix patches are out there.
You also probably need to spend some time learning about the OD server configuration files. The error is generally an indication that the Receiver is not configured properly to accept deployments from the Sender - RTFM and search the forums for the error message (without the explicit hostname) and you should be able to find the answer you're looking for.
