Feasibility check of providing a warning when a form is checked out and submitted in workflow

Dear all,

I have a requirement in webtop 6.5 where forms are designed with forms builder 6.5.When the form is triggered it actually initates aworkflow

The customer  expects a specific reqmt as below

1.Sometimes the customer checks out the form and submits the form which triggers the workflow which goes to paused state.

2.In order to prevent the above the customer wants a warning  to be shown that the document is checked out when they hit the submit.

3.Else is there any way to prevent the workflow going to paused state when the form is checked out

Also Is there a validation check which can be performed to suffice the above requirement.If so which component would be need to be customized.

#3 is easy - just define workflow's first activity to check to see r_lock_owner attribute value.  If the value is NOT null, bypass the workflow to the end.
