Customizing Knowledgebase UI for users

First let me say I am not a knowledgeable MP developer, I'm just a lowly user of MP.

We would like to customize the UI of the knowledgbase to display the last date for checkin.

I was told that all UI customizations are global for the Knowledgebase, and I think that would be ok.

But, I would like to know if this is possible, so we could see this data without a ton of clicks, which is what you have to do today.

Please advise.
