How can I do it? IF sentence in Process Builder

Hi,

I'm using Process Builder, and I don't know how I can solve this.

In the process, I have a sdt with a variable called gender, it can contain "male" or "female", depending on the contents of that variable I have to inform two more variables: one with "He/She" another with "Mr/Mrs" depends of the content of the previous variable (gender).

Note: This variable called gender belongs to a candidate, the sdt can contein ten o more candidates...

Seems simple but i don't find the way to do this with a process builder tasks any ideas?

Can you show a sample?Does this variable hold a sentence and you are looking for a way to extract the words male or female from the sentence,is that what you mean?

Imagine that my sdt has default values, or obtain certain values to variables via webservices

candidat_name: Barak Obama;

gender: male

country: EEUU

My process builds a pdf mapping sdt variables with a template in HTML,

Example of template:

$candidat_1_mr$ $candidat_name$ lives in $country$

then the pdf result is:

Mr Barak Obama lives in EEUU

(it's an example...)

so I only have the gender and have to build other content variables before make the mapping(with a java method), with the gender variable in the process, I can do it in the java method.

So I need a sentence IF into the process, and I don't find the way to do it.

IF (gender=="male){

candidat_1_mr = "Mr."

}else{

candidat_1_mr = "Mrs."

}

Hi,

Not so difficult, process builder provides you the options to create conditioning and concat,copy and many other functions as well.So you can achieve to this requirement very easily.

Looking to your requirement,

lets say you have one variable called my_sentence and one called gender.

You can do like this,

First check the value of the variable "gender" with a decision split,

Then if gender is mail select activity A else activity B.

And then in activty A for example you can concat your sentence with MR, in B with MRS.

This image shows a sample concat function.

Please see process builder user guide for more information on using those functions.

And another option is using a BOF module.You can create your java method pass the input parameters, do prosesing and return the sentence.

You can also use looping option in process builder.So that would help you to store the names in repeating attributes and loop through.https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-8506
