How to have addtional XML Declaration in DCT

Hi,

Anybody know how can I have an addtional xml declaration in dct, i.e. .

I have no problem to add this line in my DCT. However, this line will disappear when I save the dcr

Appreciate advise from you guys.

In general I believe only one <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> declaration is valid in an XML document.

I do not believe that you can do this in the DCR itself.
Instead you would need to use a PT to create a custom XML file from the DCR in which you could insert the XSL heading.

DCR_XML + PT => Custom_XML

given the fact that TS can save DCRs in *custom* XML format, I think the above sentence is not quite correct.

I would write something like:

DCR (Custom or IWOv format) + PT -> anything

Yes, but...

I don't believe there will be a 'clean' way of doing it directly - you won't be able to add the XSL stylesheet to the output DCR XML when TeamSite saves the form through a TeamSite route/instruction/addition to datacapture.cfg.

What you would do is pick some trigger - submit for example - and 'hack' the DCR through Perl, find an XML declaration followed by a line break followed by <disclaimer> and write the XSLT line in between the two. I've not tried it and you would need to check that TeamSite was happy to let you edit a DCR with this modification but it might work.

A much more elegant solution is to just generate the output XML through a TPL though.

On the first thought ... when there is already an elegant and simple way to do do things and are being provided.... then why to catch the ear under the crossed legs.

Why should a company would be happy.... if anyone is hacking a code of its application. Moreover they have given you facility to get the output in XML format ... with a little programming.

I hope ... simple and elegant way given is easier and also supported ... So go for it.

It seems my post was a little ambiguous, so i'll just clarify what i was trying to say.

It wasn't my intention to suggest you would need to check that Interwoven (the company) were happy with you doing it. My suggestion did not involve true hacking (in to Interwoven's code), just modifying the output XML format in a way that was not intended.
