Custom Adaptors in Forms Builder

Hi everyone,

I am using Forms Builder 6.6,

we are having a requirenment which should give the difference of the two date values selected by the user in the date fields in a text box, as shown in the below screen shot.

Create adaptor with this query

select DATEDIFF(<date_part>,DATE('${start_date}','<date_format>'),DATE('${end_date}','<date_format>')) from dm_docbase_config

HI Elchin,

I try to create the adapter by using the following query as suggested by you,

select DATEDIFF(day,DATE('${lma_start_date}','mmm dd,yyyy'),DATE('${lma_end_date}','mmm dd,yyyy')) from dm_docbase_config

and try to run the query by using hard coded values as shown below

select DATEDIFF(day,DATE('dec 22,2011','mmm dd,yyyy'),DATE('dec 25,2011','mmm dd,yyyy')) from dm_docbase_config

For both the querys we are getting the error messeage as shown below

please help us to resolve the problem.

Your date format is wrong.Please look DQL Reference Guide for date formats

I test it with this query

select DATEDIFF(day,DATE('11/10/2011','mm/dd/year'),DATE('12/10/2011','mm/dd/year')) from dm_docbase_config

It works fine

Hi Elchin,

we are trying the quires what u suggested and what i posted,

In DA all the quires posted by me and as well u are worked,

But coming to adapter it doesn't populate, and as well as it shown the above error,

my current attributes is lma_start_date and lma_end_date it populates the values like 'dec 12,2011' and 'dec 13,2011'

please help me out to solve the above issue..

Hi,

Post the screenshoots of your adaptor

your date format is <month dd,year>

if you change query like that it will work

select DATEDIFF(day,DATE('dec 22,2011','month dd,year'),DATE('dec 25,2011','month dd,year')) from dm_docbase_config

Have one alias (diff) for your query and mention that as item name in the output type.

Change the query to

select DATEDIFF(day,DATE('${lma_start_date}','month dd,year'),DATE('${lma_end_date}','month dd,year')) as diff from dm_docbase_config

and Output Type - select dropwdown Output type

add group dm_docbase_config

add item diff(integer)

In Total Leaves text control, In Properties, after you selected the adaptor, there will be three drop down fields below to the adaptor name

Row Selection - date_Type/DateGroup

Display Value - date_Type/DateGroup/diff

Value - date_Type/DateGroup/diff

Please make sure that the control "Total Leaves" has been binded to lma_date_count data item.

Check in Special tab of "Total Leaves"

What is type of 'Total Leaves'?String or Integer?

It must be same with 'diff' type in Output Type

Hi Elchin,

Total Leaves is a lable and the name of the attribute is lma_leave_count and the type is Integer.

i tried as u suggested, now the form is valid and i instaled it, now no problem with adaptor and the form,

after that i tried to create form in task space with that template, it populates the template in open item tab.

at that point it shows the error messeage as shown below.

after that i tried to give the default values to lma_start_date and lma_end_date like as shown below.

it shows another error like above.

Please help me out.
