Discussion Forums issues on Interwoven---Urgent!
jeevan
Hello DevNet members!
Please can I know how Discussion forums are being implemented on Interwoven WorkSite MP. Specific snapshots would be highly appreciable. I would like to know regarding:
1) How Discussion forums are effective in Interwoven WorkSite MP as compared to one like the Devnet forums we are using.
2) Suppose a query is being posted to xyz person on the forum, how to ensure that a message is automatically send to xyz. Means how the person xyz will come to know that he has received a query.
3) Is there any Pop –Up facility available to ensure the same as above, since there could be delay in replying the query or a email notification directly to the concerend person to whome the query is been sent ? How ?
4) Can we have a view of Domain Expert names list on the forum.
Looking to hear from you soon!
Thanking you!
Regards
Jeevan

One component is available "Discussion Folder" using this you can create the discussion threads and other persons could reply also. It's not upto like DevNet but yes some basic minimum forum functionality you can develop.
I think, there is no built-in pop-up facility available right now but probably you could program your own using wsmp API.

Thanks Nicholas,
Please can you elaborate on:
Suppose i posted a query on forum and simultaneously i am using Outlook Express. Can we connect the both like sending messages or Alert msg to the recepient or group of mail ids of outlook express that they have received the query on their ids.
In all at what extent we can customize the Discussion forum functionality which can work like our DevNet forum.
looking to hear from you!
thanking you!

As i said it won't provide much functionality accept opening a thread and to reply on it. you could add some more functions into it (depend if WSMP supports) but developing a DevNet like forum not worth. And if you are doomed to develop it better to contact support and make sure what extend WSMP would support for you.
