Error executing the DFC Support script

Hi experts,

I got very strange error while docbase creation,

the log says,

The installer will execute the DFC Support script.

The installer failed to execute the DFC Support script. For more information, please read output file: \Documentum\dba\config\emc\dfc.out.

And here is what I have in dfc.out

Error encountered: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: unknown activity type

have anyone faced this problem before?

Hello Imran,

I got the same error twice. Do you know what caused the problem.

Do you have a workaround? Do you know what happens if i continue installing with unsuccessfull scripts.

Hello, unfortunately I could not solve the problem.The workaround was formatting the server.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I have finished the installation with dfc headscript install failure. All other xCP products are installed successfully.

It’s our test environment, so its Ok if I can practice the system. Otherwise I will apply the workaround.

Actually it works without any problems, but if you try to install a dar file into the repository it will fail.

I've found this message on server.log file on jboss log folder:

2012-03-12 19:00:00,125 INFO [STDOUT] Could not load class com.documentum.bpm.method.WQInitialization through DI framework, trying to load it by conventional means

I've installed BPM dar and the message has been removed from the log.

I Don't have any issues on deploying a dar file, for now. I insist deploying the system anyway . I don't konow if I'll face any other issues.

Oh, sorry the dar files can be installed if they don't contain any processes.Import a process template from the repository to a dar file and try to install it, it will fail.

I cannot install any process by dar file. It fails.

Yes, the same happens in my environment to.The interesting side is that if I format the server and make a clean install everything works, and the script executed after a while, after several days if I try to create a new docbase the same problem occurs again.Please share your knowldge if you find a solution to this.

Whats your OS? Does your OS have automatic patching enabled? This could explain the behavior you are seening.

I'm using server 2003. I had a basic image that has only OS installed.

I've tried Documentum installation 2 times by moving previous snapshot. Both installation failed at "DFC Support Script" execution.

I don't have the topical server, I have deleted the latest snapshot. I get the picture from the basic image that has only OS installed. I do not think that I have enabled "OS updates" by a mistake. I can not be sure.
