Problem regarding validations

Hi all

  In my jsp am using validaltions like

  

  

               <td >

                  <dmf:requiredfieldvalidator name='first' enabled="true"

                  controltovalidate='first_name' errormessage='First Name is Required'/>

              </td>

 

  but when i click an save button it is displaying the error message and then it's intraction with component class. i have a requirement like when validation fails

it should not intract with the component class.

plz provide sloution for this

in component class use

component class{

if(getisValid()){

//if everything works fine

}

else(){

return false

}

}

by this you will get the error msg in the jsp if the field is blank.
