Sorting of Advanced search result

Hi All,

I have a requirement to display the advanced search result sort by document's name. We have customized the advance search and displaying it within iframe.

Can you please let me know how can I display the search result order by document's name by default?

Hi,

Extend com.documentum.webtop.webcomponent.advsearch.AdvSearchEx class and override buildQuery() method. Add an orderby clause to the querybuilder like below,

                @Override
     protected IDfQueryBuilder buildQuery() {          
          IDfQueryBuilder queryBuilder=super.buildQuery();
          queryBuilder.addOrderByAttribute("object_name",true);
          return queryBuilder;
     }

This will sort the results by object name

What version of Webtop are you using?

Try this:

1. get handle of datagrid control used to display search result

(you might need to do this by extending OTB search class, I believe Search60 class. You can override initControl method)

2. fetch data provider from data grid

3. data provider defines method sort

If this works, you need to take care that since Search60 will also be called when user perform quick/basic search so this will apply for quick/basic search result as well
