JRE- editing issue
kajjubee
One of our users recently upgraded her JRE to 1.5.x from 1.4.x on the client machine. As a result, when she tries to edit a file which was edited by her before and has changed on the server since (Has "always keep" mode selected in the launchpad settings), it doesn't overwrite the local file with the latest one on the server. As a result, she uploads the file with her changes on the older file resulting in loss of another user's changes. She has downgraded the JRE back to 1.4.x but the problem persists. A workaround is to delete the file on her local machine and then edit the file and it downloads the latest file. Has anyone else encountered this? Any better solutions?
TS6.5 SP1 Solaris 9
Thanks,
K

Does the user do an Edit from TeamSite first - or are they just continuing to edit from whatever is on their local machine from the last time they edited?
If the latter - I think it's termed "user error" and I'm not sure that you can do too much other than "user training".
If it's the former - then you're saying that the Local File Manager (a.k.a. LaunchPad) is not able to [or not trying to?] overwrite the copy on the local disk with the most recent version from TeamSite -- that sounds strange and definitely worthy of a Support call.

Thanks Adam for your response. It's the former. Strangely though, if they remove the local file first and then try to edit, it works fine. Very wierd.

This is a known bug and fixed in 6.5 SP2 which is now available.
The bug number, if you would like to talk to Support more about it, is 60530.
