Process template dar file & content server version

Hi Experts,

Does install of process templates generated in an older version of docbase into a new version supported?

I mean, have created a dar file of process templates which are generated in a 6.6 docbase and installed into 6.7 sp1 docbase, and I am facing some issues.Task forms, not all but some are not saving the submitted data and the data gets lost.

Hi Imran, Normally you can install dar file from a previous version. In the other way, you have some restricitions regarding the different version. Did you check your forms in Forms Builder ? Perhaps you forget one configuration element in your dar file (object type ??).

Yes I checked the form in forms builder and no problems also I have included all custom types in my dar file as well.

In fact the same dar file is installed to an 6.6 docbase as well and the problem did not occur, it happens only if I install it from 6.6 to 6.7 sp1. I think this is not realted to the form because after this problem I have uninstalled the process template from target docbase (6.7 sp1) added a new manual activity to the process created a new form and it does not work either. Very strange.

All the products (Forms Builder, Process Builder, ...) are on the same version in your content server 6.7 SP1. Perhaps you have to patch your process builder installing a new dar file ?

Do you use a xCP developper edition or you install all the separate product (content server / process builder / process engine) ?

No this is not developer edition, it is full edition, everything installed separate as you mean.

Don't know what really I did just removed some variables and pacages then did some checkin checkout, versioning and added the variables again and this stuff started to work.. İt just made me nervous.

Believe me or not, in 6.7 sp 1 if you have 2 or more packages and you don't mark one of them as visible in your manual activity then the task data submitted by the manual activity performer will be lost.

Is the normal comportment or a bug ?

Possibly a bug, because lets say I have 2 packages, case folder and case log and the activity performer only requires the case folder not the case log.So why then I should mark the log visible as well?According to xcp best practices guide marking not required data invisible improves performance.

I have reported the problem to support, will see what they think of it.
