update folder acl dfc code

hi all,

i have req like set of subfolders under each main folder some of sub folders having different acess to users, i created script to create main folders and sub folders underthat and at the time of creation only am applying acls to folders commonly, later based on department i want to update some of sub folder acl or update permission to other users so how to achieve this. created acls with api script as owner as dm_dbo and acl_class as 3.

is it possible get folder and get acl of folder and grant permission to some other groups and saving acl as instance of main acl.

because when i trying to update acl and saving it is updating main acl which i created i dont want like that when ever am granting other groups then that folder acl as to save as instance of actual acl and update to that folder only.

Instead of updating the ACL directly, if you execute grant against document/folder themselves, the Content Server will make a copy of existing ACL, update the ACL with newly granted permissions, and assign newly created ACL on the documents/folders.
