Change WDK calendar control

Hi Experts,

Right after end users started working in real environment, they started complaining about the wdk calendar control.

In search if the user wants to search cases received between 2009 and 2011 the user has to go through all months to reach to previous year.

Is there a way to make the cerate year selection in the wdk calendar control, something similar to windows 7?

Please let me know if there are any xcelerators.

It was very complex to do this in custom because there are many files that requires to be overridden so we directly edited the "popupCalendar.js" located in /taskspace/wdk/include and it was very easy in this way.

Attaching the js file.You can make use of this calendar by replacing the default calendar control.

Don't forget cleaning browser cache otherwise the default calendar control will be displayed.

The user can type the approximate date into the field... i.e. 6/1/1970 and then click the calendar control and it will show them June of 1970. They can then refine by clicking the exact date that they want.

Maybe the users need an introduction to the device in front of them with all the nubby looking bumps with letters and numbers... Its called a "keyboard"

I think irony here out of place. Because of Documentum's UI is very disappointing. It is very sad. Personally I am very ashamed to demonstrate user interface of Documentum for users (and potential clients), compared to today's web applications. This calendar control is not very clear example of this, but nevertheless...

I know that they can type it, but we have taught how to use the mouse with a great effort, don't want to go into trouble again with introducing the new stuff "keyboard", it would be easier to customize,believe me it is so.Because this guys have always worked with paper, they complain about everything and don't want to move to automated system.

Hi Imran,

We did face the same issue and started customizing the calendar tag along with wdk/include/popupCalendar.js which was too complex and we had to fallback with day, month and year dropdowns.
