Tasks Hanging in Teamsite

Hi,

This query is related to workflow as well as with teamsite. So, i am posting this here.
My scenariao Smiley Embarassed

In my workflow i am using mail reminder to approvers as a dummy task.And the workflow is written in such a way that once this dummy task gets triggered the control goes back to the workflow. Hence,If i am not wrong, the workflow will never get the status of this task as this task is running as a daemon process. Am i right ??
Now in my case there are around ten approvers. The project owner submitted one project way back in 2004 and this project is finished now.Nothing is available about this project in teamsite(No jobid related to this project under workflow tab).
And these days one strange thing is happening . Some of the approvers are getting reminder mail these days. I tried eveything to search for these tasks hanging in the teamsite, but not able to get them.

So what shd i do now ? Hope to get something from you.Its urgent as this is happening on production and my life is in danger...

I won't comment on the design of the workflow (especially as I haven't actually seen the code ;-) but:

I have to assume that the TeamSite server has been rebooted at least once since the day that job was submitted - so the idea that there would be any left-over processes still sending email is extremely unlikely.
A more likely culprit is the mail server(s) which might have messages left over in a cache somewhere -- You should probably make a point of looking at the full / raw headers of the email to see where it's been and when it's been there.
Also, check the output of iwgetwfobj to ensure that the workflow cache in TeamSite isn't corrupted somehow (though I still think the mail servers are the more likely suspect here).
