Content storage migration approach during upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5 Sp1

I am planning for a Documentum upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5 using switch-over approach. Content serevr, database server are on AIX 5.3. Content is stored on the CS server host. Repository schema will be migrated from source database to target database.

I would like to know the best possible approach for migrationg content(data storage) from source to target host. Do I need to use any migration tool in this case ?

Can I use ftp to copy content from sourch to target ?

You don't HAVE to use migration software but I think most folks would recommend it. Having the ability to configure, test, reconfigure is pretty helpful particularly when changing other items in your stack.

There are many other migration products. It makes sense to have a migration infrastructure as part of you infrastructure as moving, extracting and importing are very common functions.
