Hi,
Does documentum have anything for dealing with content that must be published in different formats based on the version of the consuming target system? If not, does anyone have advice for this?
For example, today we publish to a target system and include specific attributes for each content type that the target system knows how to consume. Some day, a new version of that target system will arrive, and we need to publish to both the old and new versions of that target system. We may want to add more attributes to the content types and publish those attributes to the new version of the target system, while still publishing the old attributes to the previous version of the target system. Somehow, we need to know that attribute1 is for target system version-X and that attribute2 is for target system version-Y. We may even delete attributes, or want to say that attribute3 is for target system version X and version Y.
I'm wondering if anyone has advice on leveraging documentum's capabilities (including xts, cts, xdb, xplore, etc...) for this, or other design or content-management advice.
thanks
Bill
