I need to initiate a workflow from a regular perl file.Can any body help me with any idea.

Is there any CLT I can use?

You can use iwjobc and iwinvoke CLT in order to instantiate and invoke the workflow. BUT the thing to remember is it can only be done by a Master user.

You can also use TeamSite standard perl modules
my $wf_system = TeamSite::WFsystem->new();
my $wf = wf_system->CreateWorkflow($spec);
if ($wf->isValid())
{
$wf->Invoke();
}

Again you need to be a master user to run this

$spec is the Job Specification ID or can we specify a *.wft file for it to invoke the Workflow itself?

$spec is the workflow specification in the form of a string not the wft file.

You would need to compile the wft file into a spec file and pass that spec file as string.

Personally, I'm in favor of using chetansethi's method but if you were to use iwjobc, just remember that to actually instantiate the workflow, you'll need to use the -i flag ("iwjobc -i").

Take a look at iwwft_compile.ipl (perldoc iw-home/bin/iwwft_compile.ipl)

This is generally a good way to instantiate a WFT from a script.

You can use the

TeamSite::WFsystem

module too, as was suggested, but

iwwft_compile.ipl

is generally easier.

If you're using a job specification file (pure XML - no perl, no TAG_info, etc.) then you can use

iwjobc -i

to "compile" and invoke the job in one step (in older versions of TeamSite - pre-5.5.2? - you needed to run iwjobc, capture the output and then use iwinvokejob with that information)

Matter of personal preferencies. mostly
