Datum input format validator

Hellou,

I have a problem with an xForm (taskspace) date input validator.

When a date is picked (from the calendar) the validator displays an error message.

(see screen shot).

I have changed the <default_locale> value in app.xml to experiment and the result is as in the screen shot.

With en_US default locale the "required" date is slightly different then with nl_NL default locale.

In both cases it is "medium" format, but where is it coming from?

My datetimecontrol_config.xml:

Both content and application servers are AIX machines with only en_US locale installed.

In my docbase_config there is only 'en' dd_locale.

I would appriciate any pointers regarding this matter..thanks.

You can modify the date format in app.xml.

And also for "MMM" you sould type month name for example 'Feb'.

Hi Imran, thanks for helping out.

I don't want to type feb. I click on the calendar icon en just pick a date.

It fills the date just as I want it (according to the default_locale which is nl_NL).

The problem is this validator that fails to understand that.

When I change the (above) datetimecontrol_config.xml file en set the input date format to medium, the calendar fills the date as 'd-MMM-yyyy' and validator does not complain, but that is not the cure.

The question is where does this "...MMM..." format (medium date notation) that validator complains about come from? (so I can change it to dd-MM-yyyy (short) )

Hi,

'MMM'- expects 'FEB' if you type '02' instead of 'MMM' it will fail.

Ok now where can you change it? I am not pretty sure about this, but possibly this should be changed in either app.xml file or in your validator.You can change the format to 'dd-MM-yyyy' in app xml and test if it works.What is the date format in your validator?

The date format in "my" validator is unknown, as the validator it self is unknown.

This field is in an xForm and I selected "None" in the "Use validator" dropdown list.

I'm thinking this maybe a Taskspace bug?

Just to make sure, did you restart the app server after you remove the valuator?

I did not remove it (the validator). It was never there / defined / used.

I have tried to modify the datetimecontrol_config.xml and you are absolutely right , it only works with the default configurations or with medium.Even when all fields are short in the xml, the calendar returns medium format, where short should be 02.22.12 the calendar returns back 2.22.2012.

No long date format short date format can be configured. And I checked several other threads in the forum and guess no one is successful . Also there is no documentation about available options.Why don't you request support.?
