Dymanic population of dropdowns | error using callout tag

I have used this code to use the callout tag.The error message reports a access error. I need to populate a dropdown dynamically so that the values are read from a flatfile/xml file. The correct use of the tag to use the dropdowns as required would be highly usefull.

My first question would be - do you really need a callout?

If your just performing a programatic action that doesn't require any user interaction (unlike say a pop-up search form where the user has to type in search terms) I'd probably just use an inline.

Check the templating developers guide for details and your TeamSite servers <iw-home>/examples directory, where you will find <iw-home>/examples/Templating/config/example_server_side_inline_callout.ipl

This is included in to the DCT using one of these:

(Win)

Then it's just a matter of writing an IPL file that transforms the source XML in to the following format:

</substitution>
