Index Sharepoint content with Xplore

We recently had some discussion whether Xplore could be used to index content stored

in a separate Sharepoint instance.

Has anyone experience with integrating external content sources?

Xplore is built on Apache Lucene? Hence if this is the case then it maybe possible to install connectors for Sharepoint.
