docbaseLockIcon can not be setVisible(true)?

hi all.i am trying to get a docbaselockicon from a data grid and set the docbaselockicon visible.the code below:in datagrit the docbaselockicon's visible attribute is false.

public void onControlInitialized(Form arg0, Control arg1) {

       if (arg1.getName() == null)
        return;
       Datagrid dg2 = (Datagrid) getControl("dgTaskList", Datagrid.class);

rows = dg2.getDatagridRows();
for (int i = 0; i < rows.size(); i++) {

Label label = (Label) getControl("label" + i, Label.class);

String labelString = label.getLabel();

             if (labelString != null && labelString.contains("locked")) {
                   DocbaseLockIcon dbli = (DocbaseLockIcon) getControl("lock_" + i, DocbaseLockIcon.class);
                   System.out.println(dbli.getName());
                   dbli.setVisible(true);
            }

}
}

with debugging i determined that label and docbaselockicon can be taken healthyly.it seems to me that it has no errors but unfortunately the docbaselockicon can not be made visible.

what is wrong with this code?

the onControlInitialized method is called once control is intialized, so I dont think you need to iterate through datagrid, check if control is instance of docbaselockicon, then set its visibility directly.

another option is to set the visible as true or false in JSP (since visible attribute allows you to set runtime value), something like

<dmfx:docbaselockicon name="<%=\"lock_\" +i %>" datafield="r_object_id" size='16' visible="<%= isVisible %>" />

and you can set isVisible in JSP, for this get handle to dataprovider (from datagrid) and using data provider you can fetch any value of current row

What is displayed in your datagrid? If its dm_sysobjects (or derived subtypes), that the icon value will be automatically set to true if the object is locked.

thank you for the reply.the datagrid renders mixture of 3 types:dmi_workitem,dm_workflow and custom type hlk_document. the lock image is for not determining the locked object directly.rather, lock image should be visible when an object that workitem uses is locked.code looks the OS Eror column of dmi_workitem and if the column contains "locked" string, then the lockimage icon should be visible for that workitem.

edit: if i sort the rows for docbaselockicon, it truely sorts.i mean the rows that should be lockedimaged are at the top.

hi Tejraj, i mean the "visible" attribute of the docbaselockicon is false.

but this should not be the problem because i set the "visible" attribute of docbaselockicon true in java code(onControlInıtıalized method).

No. for controls which needs to be controlled from behavior class do not set the visible attribute for such controls from JSP file.

remove the visible attribute from JSP and test again.

i removed the visible attribute of jsp file and this time, all docbaselockicons are visible for all rows.

the default value for visible attribute is true. so if this attribute is not specified, control will be visible.

now if you want to hide any specific control you need to set it as "false" in behavior class so it will not be visible. once set to "false", if you want to make it visible again (say on screen refresh) then you need to set it to "true" otherwise control will not be visible. so basically you have control visibilty/or set this attribute to true or false (based on requirement) in behavior class

i changed the code as setVisible(false) for rows that does not contain "locked" string.last form of code is:

why do you want to set it in onControlInitialized method ? try it under onInit or onRender method

i tried it under onRender but it didtnt work.i have checkboxes which are set invisible on the same method(onControlIntialized).anyway,thank you for the replies

in order to fetch the value in JSP in datagrid, you need to perform following:

1. get handle of datagrid in JSP

Component form = (Component) pageContext.getAttribute(Form.FORM, PageContext.REQUEST_SCOPE);

Datagrid datagrid = (Datagrid) form.getControl("<datagrid_name>", Datagrid.class);

2. fetch dataprovider from datagrid

DataProvider dataProvider = datagrid.getDataProvider();

3. now, to fetch data for every row, following code needs to be added inside "<dmf:datagridRow>" tag. something like:

<dmf:datagridRow...>

String value = dataProvider.getDataField("<datafield_value>"); //this value will return same value, as is displayed on screen which is displayed by dmf:label control below

<dmf:label name="labelcontrol" datafield="<datafield_value>" />

</dmf:datagridRow>

so, basically we can fetch any value for current row which we normally set using "datafield" attribute of JSP controls like dmf:label etc.. This way you can add logic to initialize boolean variable for each row of datagrid and use that boolean variable to control the visibility of docbaselockicon for that row in JSP itself.
