HI all

I was just curious, what are some of the things that a documentum administrator does on a day to day basis

Thanks in advance

Have you tried searching on job boards (eg Monster) for Documentum Administrator?  You will probably get a good description of job responsibilities and expected capabilities.

I think this is a nice list of items that should be monitored and managed:

    Short base:

    - View/purge log files

    - Keep services running

    - Schedule jobs

    - 3th-line support issues

    - Transformation (ADTS) services

    - Indexing services

    Long base:

    - Synch groups/users with LDAP

    - Backup/restore

    - Add storage when full

    - Auditing data and purge it

    - Architecture with loadbalancing/failover/distibuted configurations

    - Installation

    - Configure files/objects

I think that Antal put together a good list.  I would add - reviewing job reports  (Consistency Checker, Content Warning, DB Warning, LDAP Sync, etc.) and resolving any issues that show up in them.
