I am not going, My company doesn't want to sponsor my expenses. Smiley Sad

I'll be bumming around there.

(there are a couple of casinos not too far away ... and some of the sessions look interesting too ;-)

jbonifaci

Not familiar at all with the area... How close are these casinos and will they have poker? Smiley Very Happy

They're about 10 miles away - and I belive they both have poker:

Seminole Hard Rock Casino

Seminole Hollywood Casino

Hey Guys...

I will be at GearUp too Smiley Happy

Hopefully you guys will take time out of your normal gambling time, to come to the Developer Appreciation Night on Sunday at 7. The Poker game is free, and you can win prizs by knocking out Interwoven people, or winning the whole tourney - not to mention bragging rights:cool: .

I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Is this *actually* happening?
Is this a tournament or live game? (based on the above - I'll assume tournament)
What game(s) will be played? (presumably holdem - anything else?)
What's the starting bankroll in tournament chips?
What's the ante/blind structure?
How many IWOV people are going to be there?
What kind of prizes are we talking about?

(it's just like trying to get the details of a bug report ;-)

I already rsvp'd, so I'll definitely be there. Besides, if I don't go, someone else will win and I can't have that Smiley Wink

This **** will be there. I am not looking forward to the four hour time change (3 time zones + day light savings).

Hi Adam,

It's definitely happening
We're only playing one game, and it's a no limit texas holdem tournament.
Starting bankroll is 2500
Blinds start at 25-25 ante's kick in at 100-200 (to speed up the game)
Probably about 5 Iwov people there playing- depending on the amount of seats we have left open.
We've given out enough Ipods (I think everyone on DevNet has 3)...so this time we're doing gift certificates, they're the next best thing to cold hard cash.

hth,
Heather

This is where I will be if anyone needs me during Gear UP... at least until I run out of money... Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is a Native American Casino in Hollywood, Florida and is open daily 24 hours. The casino is about 135,000 square feet The property has four restaurants and a hotel with 500 rooms.

So maybe someone should save me a seat sunday at 4pm... since my flight gest in at 3 that should give me time to get to the hotel, and to the casino, and then loose all my money.... Man this is gonna rock!

Yeah, I know Adam will be there as well. I will definitely be checking them out, just not exactly sure when... That $300 tournament monday night at 6:30pm is tempting though... Smiley Very Happy

Yea, really funny.

Let's compare speaker evals next. Smiley Very Happy

BTW, when you fly home, don't carry-on your speaker gift. It contains a corkscrew with a little knife.

Not that anyone cares, but I will not be at GearUp. I just logged into DevNet to see what all the fuss is about with the "new" DevNet. I love the posts complaining about the Search capabilities (or lack thereof). Brings a tear to my eye. My coworker (walib) is having some fun with DevNet, too. So you kids have fun in Florida.

* looks like I have a couple hundred "ditto" replies in order to catch back up with Nipper. Sheesh...the things I do for Interwoven...

Isn't there always that one person you keep running into at those conferences?

Haha, yeah, mine is still with airport security in Florida, I'm guessing everyone got tagged with that, Smiley Very Happy

Hi guys,

It was great meeting so many of you at GearUp. I was especially happy to see how many of us could make it to the Developer Appreciation Night - Pizza Pints and Poker. We had a great turnout, and I thought it was a fun way to meet everyone. I am hopeful that we can do more events like that in the future.

Congratulations to 13adam13 for winning the tournament!

Some of you are already sending me feedback about what you would like to hear about next year which is fantastic. If anyone else has ideas, it would be really helpful to hear.

Some of the things that I heard from you and will continue to work on that are unrelated to the conference topics are:

forum improvements
a developer wikki
continued improvements to search

Please also let me know if there are other topics you want to hear more about and I will get them scheduled as webcasts or as topics for future GearUps.

Thanks,

Heather
