Webtop/DA - not able to see/get properties/edit/checkout etc of a document when I right-click on it

Hi,

I started a workflow with an MS Word document attached to it. The document has dm_world permissions as WRITE. The activity performers are not able to see anything like properties/edit/checkout etc when the performer right-clicks on it. I am thinking it is Browser issue. We are using IE 9 and our environment is DCTM 6.7. Please let me know why it is haapening? Also after login to Webtop/DA some times I am not able to get menu options for 'file', 'View' etc. I have to kill the browser and open Webtop/DA. Even with new browser some times I am not able to checkout or edit because I am not getting such options. If I double click on the document it is just opening in 'Read Only' mode. It is happening before or after accepting the workitem in the workflow.

Please share your knowledge and experience.

Your guess about IE9 being the problem is probably right. We have seen other issues with IE9 that we dont see with the supported browsers and versions defined in the Release Notes.

Did you try using compatability mode for IE9? If that doesnt work, then you are pretty much out of luck, since IE9 is not supported yet.

I am going through Webtop 6.7 Release Notes. It did not clearly say which browser is supported. I need to read it thoroughly. Mean while I will try with IE8.

You are right!!!

I am using Windows 7 professional sp1 64 bit laptop. The installed browser on my laptop is IE9. I tried with IE8 mode (by opening IE9 and then pressing F12 to select the mode). Still both in Webtop and DA I could not see edit/checkout etc. options after right-clicking on the document. As I missing anything?

I also tried IE9 Compatibility mode. Still it did not help.

Please advise me.

Like I said, IE9 is not supported, so EMC has not done any testing against that browser. The only alternative is to use a supported browser.

The problem is I am using Windows 7 Professional and it is not allowing me to intall IE8. I do not know what to do? Do you have any clue?

also check the SSL and TLS settings in your IE browser, those can make or break functionality

Under Internet Options -> Advanced tab I see the following:

Use SSL 2.0 Unchecked
Use SSL 3.0 Checked
Use TLS 1.0 Checked
Use TLS 1.1 Unchecked
Use TLS 1.2 Unchecked

Can you please give me more info on this like what values the SSL and TLS need to bet set? Also can you please walk me through where I can find them? I started researching. What exactly SSL/TLS mean? How they effect?

or as Johnny suggested use another browser works in some cases.

If you have connected to any repository using that browser, clear all history, cache, cookies and local documentum created things like cache and UCF entries (which is hidden under your user directory)
