In streamline view, I do not see Edit, Check In, Checkout etc. links against a MS Word document

Hi,

In our OOB Webtop 6.7, when I am in streamline view, I see Edit, Check In, Checkout etc. links against a MS Word document, but in our custom webtop I do not see them. Which component I need to explore and what exactly I need to do.

Please share your knowledge and experience.

My Files tab (component) is a query which may have different configuration than Cabinets component. If your click on Cabinets for your custom query, you will probably see those actions.

I clicked on Cabinets too. Still i do not see those actions.

I think those actions were removed by customization. I need to identify the component responsible for this and start from there. In fact, my worry is when a document is attached from "My Home Cabinet" I do not see those actions against the document while I open the WorkItem from my inbox in streamline view. My Customization allows the users to have only streamline view.

Please advise me.

There should be a config file called something like generic_actions.xml. Look in there to see if it has been disabled there.

I Do not see generic_actions.xml config file under our custom folder. It is not customized. I see it only under webapps/webtop/webtop/config and it has the following content in it:

How can I make those actions appear to only a small group of users? I need to make them appear to workflow activity performers only.

You can define precondition. However, keep in mind preconditions affect performance. What I recommend is leave it enable and if you dont want someone to edit, just give them READ only permissions.
