Help for configuring webtop with eclipse

Hello Experts,

It would be great if someone could provide me with the steps for configuring webtop with eclipse.

I have tried doing the same using following two methods:

1) Importing the webtop.jar into eclipse(lot of errors when created in a new workspace. All of them are errors on .jsp pages )

2) Referencing the webtop folder in Tomcat directory.

None of the methods are working for me.

Can anyone help me with the exact steps to do this.

Hi Tejraj,

I tried following these steps it is giving me some error in one of the java files (AdvanceProccessorQueueListNavigationNode.java)

The error is : The type Comparable is not generic; it cannot be parameterized with arguments <String>

Please suggest...

try this:

open the project properties

select "Java Build Path"

select "Order And Export" tab

move the "JRE System Library" to the top (but just after source)

perform clean build and see if this resolves the issue

Someone has already posted this error and it has been solved.

Right-click on project->Properties->Java Build Path->Source folders. Remove the source folder in the webtop layer.

Since this project is a normal java project , can you please tell me how to associate it with a server and how to run the project.

add tomcat plugin for eclipse. once added option "Tomcat" will be available under project -> properties, where in you need to set project as Tomcat project, and to specify context name and thats it..

run the tomcat from eclipse and access it using the context set

context name is the name by which name application will be deployed on tomcat (the name by which you will access application).

say you set the context name as "customwt", then to access your application following is the URL:

http://localhost:8080/customwt

Hi,

I have set my context as "webtop1" since it is the project name and tried accessing with URL : http://localhost:8080/webtop1 from the internal eclipse browser.

I got an error 404 : The requested resource (/webtop1) is not available

Please suggest...

open "Tomcat Manager" interface using http://localhost:8080 and check the state of "webtop1".

seemingly it will be in stop state, and in that case while starting tomcat it must be giving error during application "webtop1" deployment. check for error in logs.
