hi, i have a contextmenu action, it works succesfully but there is a problem:it has no label.in action.xml file: taskcompletion neither nlsid, nor label works.do you have any idea what the problem is?

this is really strange. OTB behavior is, if it does not find message from corresponding property file for specified nlsid, it display it as: yy<nlsid value>yy

as per WDK reference guid, label attribute is not defined for actionmenuitem, so if you remove nlsid and specify label, it will come up as empty as you mentioned.

try this:

a. remove nlsid,label. just specify "value" attribute like <actionmenuitem ....value="TestMenuItem"../>

see if this works

b. remove value attribute, specify only nlsid attribute and set the value of NLSID. restart app server see if menu item come up as "yy<nlsid value>yy". then just add this nlsid to corresponding component's bundle file

i have already done it.

did you restarted application server after adding NLSID to property file (changes to NLS file does not pick up with WDK refersh)

i reaterted the application server.i should ask 1 thing:in action xml file there is nothing about the component.how does system knows to go which components NLS file?

when anything is displayed on sceen, it is associated with component/container which defines its look & feel and behavior. So, if component displays result in form of grid, then any action which needs to be displayed on right click of data, system looks for message bundle (NLS) defined for comonent/container on which this data is displayed.

the action XML defines the action definition, it comes in picture for enabling/disabling action or when action is executed (ie. user click on link/button).

Verify that nls file is packaged with your component class. Also, can you post the contents of nls file?

If you have nls defined, you shouldnt have label value defined. Also, you said that it works fine. What do you see when you try to right mouse click?

it creates an empty area which is clickable.and when i clicked menu item it works.(its execution method is called)

even deleting nlsid and adding label to action configuration file does not work.

Sounds like your app server is NOT reading the updates in your config file. Try stopping the app server and manually deleting the working/cache directory.

did you tried option 'b'. as this is really strange if it is coming blank in case of option 'b'. the one possibility that i can think of coming blank in option 'b' if nlsid is defined as blank in property file like
