prefix with filename

Hi,

I am redirecting my work area to tomcat app server but I want to set prefixed with the filename in my workarea before going to proxy and I don't want to apply these setting in iwproxy_preconnect_remap because It changes the url setting of the page content such as images, stylesheet etc accoridng to this prefix which I don't want.

If somebody know any solution please let me know

Hi,

there are some content files in the workarea such as a1.xml, a2.xml etc .... and when user click on that file there is a prefix attach with the file name such as
/example/home.do?url=a1.xml
/example/home.do?url=a2.xml

and then the whole string forward to proxy.

But please I don't want to do this through iwproxy_preconnect_remap so I am looking for a solution before redirecting to proxy.

Well, depending on which platform you're on, you could do it at the web server level. I'm not sure how to do this in IIS, but in Apache, you could have a REWRITE set up in a local .htaccess file, which does pretty much the same thing as iwproxy_preconnect_remap. So, my question to you is: why do you want so badly to avoid iwproxy?

Hi Dave,

Actually I am avoiding iwproxy_preconnect_remap because content page has some links for images etc and these links need to be rendered with the same path as defined in iwproxy_preconnect_remap and I am using TS 6.5 on Solaris 5.8 and redirecting contents on Tomcat 5.2.4.

Do those links look like a1.xml, a2.xml, etc.? It doesn't sound like it -- so, if this is the case, you can just use a regular expression to preprocess only those requests that end in .xml, for instance.

As an alternative, your customer web server is running on Apache, yes? It's been too long since I've worked on TS in a Unix environment, but I believe that it runs on Apache by default. So, you can put a MOD_REWRITE in your local .htaccess file to rewrite any local references (look at apache.org for this information). However, like I said, this does pretty much the same thing as the iwproxy_remap directives.
