How can I achieve a workitem to be completed/finished by a group members only?

Hi,

Currently in my workflow I selected the following User Category:

Single user from a group (First to acquire the work item).

My requirement is that the single user who ever acquires the workitem must be able to delegate to only a member in that group. That means the workitem must be completed/finished by that group members only. How can I achive this?

Please share your knowledge and experience.

I don't think you can configure the OOTB Delegate feature to acheive this.

If you are not using xCP and need to customize you may follow these steps:

1) create a new component by extending the component "wfuserorgrouplocator"

2) This new component should list only the users belonging to a specific group passed as argument

3) customize/modify the delegateworkflowtask component to invoke the new-wfuserorgrouplocator component by passing the group name of the logged in user. Use the same component id, so that the modified component is called when user clicks on Delegate button

If you use xCP, you may try using the Decision Split and such

1) In the screen provide an option to allow user to select if he wants to delegate (like a check box)

2) If the user enables the delegate option, make him pick a user from the group(of the logged in user)

2) Next would be the decision split which takes place based on the value select in check box and stored in process variable

3) If it is not a delegate flow, use the normal steps

4) if it is a delegate flow, make the performer as the person whom he chose in step 2

In this approach we are actually creating our of delegate flow, so disable delegate feature for this activity using process builder. I am guessing this approach would be feasible with forms builder and process builder.

In case, you have already figured out a better or working solution, share it.
