Need help in setting up Composer project to build a workflow Java method

Hi,

I am in the process of building a Java Method for my workflow using Composer. I know how to setup Documentum project for Webtop customization so that the compiled classes to to WEB-INF/classes automatically. Can I configure my project such that my compiled class goes to its destination? If not, should I create the class file some where in my composer and deploy to its destination?

This method need to be called in an auto-activity of my workflow.

This method also sets an attribute of my custom document to a string value. I think I need to include that custom type also in my Composer project. RIGHT !!!

Please share your knowledge and experience.

Workflow method is just DFC code, so the process is just like setting up DFC project. Try reading Paul Warren's blog:

Extend com.documentum.bpm.rtutil.WorkflowMethod
Override doTask method
Write your code there
Compile, deploy classes/jar(s) to to the Java Method Server

All the above steps do not require a Composer, just a plain Java IDE (any)

The only part where you'll need a Composer is to create a dm_method object(s) so you can select it in the custom activity in the Performer Tab

There's not much to setting up the Conmposer project. Just make sure you use the more or less stable version 6.7 and that you reference the TCMReferenceProject in your COmposer project

Deployment is much simpler if you implement your workflow method as a BOF module.
